Greta Sue was raised in Oklahoma City, graduating from Classen High School in 1946. During her years at Classen, Sue was a Comet cheerleader and very involved in the drama department. Sue attended Oklahoma University and was employed by the 1st National Bank of Oklahoma City. In 1978 Sue went to work for Hall Production Company and CEO Harry Carver, an Oklahoma City oil and gas company, where she continued to work for 37 years until her retirement at the age of 87. Sue was a member of All Souls’ Episcopal Church for over 60 years, a member of St. Anne’s Guild of All Souls Church, a founding member of the Oklahoma City Sooner Ski Club, early investor and developer of Red River Ski Area, Red River, New Mexico, a member of the Oklahoma City Junior Hospitality Club, President of the downtown Oklahoma City Kiwanis ladies club, member of Twin Hills Golf and Country Club as well as the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. Sue enjoyed skiing, golfing, gardening, raising a glass of champagne and most of all, her four grandchildren. She was most saddened by the fact that she didn’t have any great grandchildren and would not live long enough, as she would always say, ”to see how it all ends”. Now she will get to see it all. Greta Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Nora Gulihur, her husbands William (Bill) Jones, Robert Fletcher Jackson Williams Jr., Joseph Cooper Burks, and her son Phillip Jackson Williams. Greta Sue is survived by her brother Larry Gene Gulihur, Los Angeles, CA., son James Fletcher Williams and wife Vicki Newcomb Williams, Nichols Hills, Oklahoma, daughter Carol Sue Williams Broderick, Marblehead, MA., son Christopher Stephen Williams and wife Nancy Thomopoulos Williams, Dallas, TX. Sue is also survived by grandchildren Fletcher Bentley Williams, St. Louis, MO., Bentley Cameron Williams, Oklahoma City, OK., Ryan Patrick Broderick, London, UK England, and Caroline Katherine Broderick, Marblehead, MA. Services for Greta Sue will be at All Souls’ Episcopal Church on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
