Harry Lee Samford

Harry, 85, the son of Harry Clay and Izetta Pearl Samford. Born in OKC, Harry was a graduate of OCU and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering. Harry worked for the Bendix Corp., Tinker AFB, and retired from the FAA in 1987. Harry was a Veteran of the Korean War, U.S. Army Signal Corps. He was an accomplished world traveler, woodworking hobbyist and avid fisherman. Harry was a level 32 ° Mason of Jones Masonic Lodge #537 and member of the Scottish Rite Freemasons, Guthrie, OK. Harry was presented with his Fifty Year Masonic Service Pin Nov 2, 2011 and Perpetual Endowed Membership Apr 6, 2013. Harry was a proud member of Harmony Christian Church in Choctaw. He is preceded in death by both mother and father as well as his four sisters and their spouses; Faye & Sammy Kurtz, Marketta & Bill Burdick, Gwyn & Hugh Barks and Lavita & Robert Sanders. Harry is survived by his three children, Anita Forster and spouse David, Stephen Samford and spouse Kimberly and Marketta Doyle and spouse David. Grandchildren include Misty Norman, Amber Samford, Christy Ragsdale and Erin McDonald. Great grandchildren are many including the apple of Harry’s eye, his great granddaughter Lochlan Jewett. Visitation is Sunday afternoon, Nov 22 from 12:00pm until 8:00pm at Guardian West Funeral Home, 5820 NW 41st St., Warr Acres, OK. Formal viewing with family members is scheduled from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Memorial Service to celebrate Harry’s Life will be Monday, Nov 23 at 2:00pm at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 7801 NW Expressway, OKC.
