Helen (Goss) Platt born December 31, 1930 in the family “Hoover Homestead” in Norton County Kansas and passed away January 3, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Parents Floyd A. and Hazel (Bogart) Goss. Helen graduated High School in Hill City Kansas; she received a full 3 year scholarship to Stormont Vail School of Nursing in Topeka, Kansas, graduating August 1951. Helen and Wilbur Platt were married November 16, 1951 in Scott City, Kansas. To this union were born 6 children. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Jerry; husband, Wilbur; sister Pearl See and her son Billy; and son-in-law Fred Probst. She is survived by daughter, Janet Case (husband Ken), son, Ken Platt (wife Teresa); son Kelly Platt (wife Jeane), daughter, Karen Probst, daughter Julie Harrison; grandchildren, Amy Akin, Sarah Lanham, Chris, Cori and Kerri Platt, Travis Probst, Jennifer Eden, Alyssa, Kayla Lee (and husband Jacob) and Christopher Harrison; great-grandchildren, Raven and Luke Akin, Colin and Cole Platt, Taylor Lockett, Taylor Platt, Cheyenne Platt, Lila Guereca, Evan, Kaiden and Henley Eden, Gage Probst, Jayden Harrison, Kennedy Harrison and Jordan Lee; great-great-grandchild, Kannon Brockman and one on the way. Helen retired in 1985 as an RN from MWC Hospital after working 20 years in the Emergency Room and Surgery Department. Helen was a member and Elder in 1st Presbyterian Church of Midwest City , member of Ruth-Naomi Circle, former member of the Premiere Book Review Club in Midwest City; known as the “Muffin Lady” as she baked goodies for shut-ins, from her church and neighborhood, as well as help cook and deliver Mobile Meals. Helen enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens, sewing and quilting. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Visitation will be held Monday, January 6, 2020 from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 1pm at the Chapel of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the 1st Presbyterian Church of Midwest City – 900 N Key Blvd. Interment at Arlington Memory Gardens.
