Hugo Castaneda, 58, passed away on September 13, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born on July 5, 1967, in Rio Grande, Zacatecas, Mexico, Hugo lived a life marked by strength, warmth, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.
He was one of three siblings and is survived by his sister Maria Carrillo. Hugo shared a deep and enduring bond with his wife, Estela Castaneda. Together they raised five children. Manuel, Roy Kevin, Denis, and Thalia, who were the pride of his life. He also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren who brought him immense joy and a grandchild soon to be welcomed into the world.
Hugo was known for his strength and resilience. He had a sharp sense of humor that could light up any room and a generous spirit that made him the first to lend a helping hand. His culinary talents were cherished by all who had the pleasure of sitting at his table, cooking was one of the many ways he expressed love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Tayde Castañeda and Manuel Castaneda , sister Gloria Castañeda.
Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we take comfort in knowing that Hugo is no longer in pain. His memory will live on through the laughter he inspired, the meals he lovingly prepared, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness.

Mass will be on Sept 16 ,2025 at 12pm located at St Patrick Church, 2121 N Portland Ave, Oklahoma City Ok 73107.
Following mass, burial will take place at 1:30-2:30 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens 8701 Northwest Expressway Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73162.
