James Merton Carter, Jr., left this world for the next great adventure on January 30, 2022. He was born April 1, 1941 to James Merton Carter, Sr. and Mildred Louisa Webber in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. He would spend the bulk of his life in Kingfisher, working for Central Office Supply as a printer until his retirement.
Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman. He would never pass up a chance to go fishing or visit any number of state parks for adventures. He would plan his adventures while tending to his garden, growing all manner of medicinal herbs to cure any ailment. On those occasions where he wasn’t enjoying everything that nature had to offer, he could be found at the Kingfisher Senior Citizen Center for a game of cards with his friends.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronald Douglas Carter.
Jimmy is survived by son David C. Carter and wife Tracy Mae Carter (Holder) of Broken Arrow, OK, and daughter Cheryl E. Carter of Denver, CO.; grandchildren Amethyst Dawn Carter, Alisha Marie Carter, Candace Randall (Prewitt), Brandy Randall Ayers, and Cassandra Nicole Randall; great-grandchildren Jacen Wayne Kochenower, Sylis Adrian Scott Bonn, Emrys Raiden Kelley, Evan Taylor Carter, Lola Prewitt, Kaylee Lynn Randall, Jayden Carter Fudge, and Lenora Delaplain.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 4, 2022 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home. A funeral service for Jimmy will be held February 5, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home on 8701 N.W. Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73162.
