

Jimmie worked at Machlangburg - Duncan as a machinist for 39 years before he retired. During his time at Machlanburg - Duncan Jimmie received several awards for his perfect attendance record. Jimmie loved the outdoors, his many hobbies included fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, and attending bluegrass music festivals. Some of his favorite vacation memories were the times he went camping, hunting, and fishing with his family. Jimmie was a devout Christian and was baptized at the age of 11. He remained faithful for the 83 years that followed that glorious moment as a member of the Church of Christ. Jimmie was also very proud of his 61 year marriage to the late Berniece (Joslin) Franks whom he married on July 31st of 1948. Jimmie was also very proud of his family. Jimmie was enlisted in the United States Army from April of 1946 to September of 1947 and was stationed in Yokohama, Japan where he served as a cook. Jimmie also served on the Oklahoma Bluegrass Club for 30 years.
Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Noble & Alta Franks; wife, Berniece Franks; 3 brothers, Harold, W.N., and Jack; and his son, Jimmie Franks, Jr.
He is survived by his daughter, Judy VanCuren and husband Billy; daughter, Susie Harbison and husband Steve; sister, Fern Smith; sister, Frieda Wood; grandchildren, David VanCuren, Christina Smith and husband Jason, Kenneth Harbison and wife Amber, Darren Harbison, Jamie, Curtis, and Timothy Franks; great-grandchildren, Jaelin Smith, Caden, Ryker, Quinn, Ainsley Harbison, and Keilee Harbison.
A visitation for Jimmie will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 4, 2022 at Bill Eisenhour NE Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at the Bill Eisenhour NE Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, OK.
