Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Judy graduated from Classen High School where she was a member of the B.V.G. High School Sorority. She then attended the University of Oklahoma and was an active member of the Tri-Delta Sorority making lifelong friends and graduating with a BA in Education. Shortly after graduating OU she met and married Doc Jordan, settling in Oklahoma City and raising two sons whom she loved dearly.
Throughout her life she possessed a servant’s heart and was actively involved with a number of Civic and Philanthropic organizations serving and volunteering on boards and as an officer of many including The Junior League, Beaux Arts, OKC Festival of the Arts and Decorator Show House not to mention the number of book clubs and social groups in which she participated.
Her love of friends and family was evident in the way she lived her life. Judy and Doc loved to entertain guests in their home in OKC and she was a master at thoughtful notes and correspondence whether a friend’s birthday or just a quick note to let someone know they were loved and remembered.
Some of her fondest memories were those spent traveling like the time she took her mother on a trip to Europe (bought and paid for after working diligently for several years at the Full Circle Book Store). Additionally, she had many wonderful memories spent at vacation homes at Grand Lake in NE Oklahoma, Snowmass, Colorado where she once crash landed in a hot air balloon in John Denver’s back yard and Naples, Florida with family and the many guests who spent time there through the years.
Judy in her words….lived a full and blessed life and if she had it to do all over again, would not change a thing..well one thing…more time with Doc who she is now reunited with in the ever after.
Judy was predeceased by her parents Marion and Ned Stinnett of OKC and her beloved husband Warren K. “Doc” Jordan. She is survived in loving memory by her son Keely and wife Lynn, son Timothy and Grandson Alex and wife Meagan and their adorable daughter Emilia who was the most recent joy of Judy’s life, extended family, D’Arline McCubbin and her son Mark and wife Marta and their daughters and son David and Wife Becky and their children.
A very special thanks from the family to the amazing Care team with Senior Care at Home and eventually Bristol Hospice. Together they made the last months of her life easy and manageable allowing her to remain at home with excellent managed care.
