Judith Ann Spunaugle, 85, went home to be with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, on February 17th, 2026. She was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on November 7, 1940, to Simon and Joy Hayes. She was one of the first students to attend the newly built Harding High School in Oklahoma City, graduating in 1958. She then attended The University of Oklahoma in Norman to pursue a degree in Architecture.
Life took her in a different direction, though. Judith worked in finance for several different companies, including the Department of Public Safety and Beneficial Finance, before becoming a manager working business operations in the medical industry. She worked at Claremore Regional Hospital until she moved to Dallas in 1984 to take a position with Parkland Hospital. After several promotions at Parkland Hospital, Judith joined Senior Leadership in Patient Finance and successfully led cross-functional teams on numerous technology implementation initiatives. She focused heavily on training and recognizing her team's efficiencies to drive employee satisfaction & retention. Judith later transitioned to healthcare consulting and worked with a variety of medical organizations in California, Arizona, Missouri and Texas before she retired. Judith was an active member of the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM).
Judith was previously married to the former Jerry Spunaugle of Bluejacket, Oklahoma. They built a house and lived near Oologah Lake and called Claremore home. She then moved to Dallas to take a position with Parkland Hospital in 1984 and called Dallas her home until 2012 when she moved to Tulsa to be near family.
While in Dallas, Judith was an active member of Cornerstone Christian Church. She was a member of the “Biddies Group”, a group of ladies who looked after each other and participated in various trips, outings and other social gatherings. When she moved to Tulsa, she became a member of Ridge Christian Church (formerly known as Cedar Ridge Christian Church). She participated in several bible study groups and women’s ministry events.
Judith left a great legacy of her faith with family. She is survived by brother Ron Mansfield and his wife Bernadette of Tulsa, Oklahoma; former stepson Doug Spunaugle and his wife, Lisa, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; former stepdaughter Shirley Spunaugle of Duncannon, Pennsylvania; granddaughter Danielle Adkins (Spunaugle) and her husband Mitch and great granddaughter Adelaide; and granddaughter Katie Spunaugle, and great grandson Colton.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at Ridge Christian Church, 4010 W. New Orleans St. Broken Arrow, OK 74011, on Saturday, March 28th, 2026 at 11:00 am. A luncheon and time of visitation with family and friends will follow. Please RSVP via text to Doug Spunaugle at 918-277-2819 if you plan to stay for the luncheon.
Judith’s final wishes were to be cremated and have her ashes sprinkled in the Pacific Ocean. She made prior arrangements with The Neptune Society (https://neptunesociety.com), and those wishes have been fulfilled.
