June Joan Childs

June J. Childs, 77, passed away May 11, 2010 with her family at her side. She was born June 23, 1932 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Peter J. and Molly (Herganrader) Dittenber. June’s passion was working with ceramics. She owned The Ceramic Store in Oklahoma City for 14 years. June was known for her expertise as a ceramist and was an esteemed judge at the State Fair of Oklahoma for the last 9 years. June had a tremendous love for her tight knit family. She was an extremely devoted mother and grandmother and was considered the glue that bound them all together. June was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Judy Childs; and a granddaughter, Jolene Shrode. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Richard; daughters, Sharon L. Parisy and her husband, Steve, Cynthia L. Lugo and her husband, Douglas, and Sandra Nix and Rick Nichols; brothers, Richard Dittenber and Eugene Dittenber and his wife, Barbara; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Hill, Corinne Frye, Shannon Fry, Richard Nix, Chad Ogurek, Justin Lugo, Brandon Lugo, Chris Parisy, Patricia Parisy and Erica Icorn; and 11 great grandchildren, Steven, Renee, Crstale, Samuel, Kaitlyn, Madalynn, Allisyn, Lauryn, Caleb, Noah and Julianna. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010 in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
