Karin Kruger was born on September 8, 1948, in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and grew up in Pueblo. A woman of resilience, compassion, and deep faith, she touched the lives of many through her warmth and kindness.
Karin was the wife of the late John Kruger and the mother of two daughters, Signe and Lisa, all of whom preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her parents, Robert J. Story and Frederique Story, whose values shaped her life.
A proud Vietnam War veteran, Karin served her country with honor. She was a longtime member of Emanuel Synagogue, where her faith played a central role in her life.
Karin worked for many years as an accountant, where her skill with numbers and attention to detail made her a valued professional. In her later years, she lived on NW 48th Street, where she was known as a kind neighbor and a friend to many. She cared deeply for the feral cats in her neighborhood, feeding them daily and giving them the care they needed. One of those cats, Miracle, became a beloved pet and companion after Karin rescued her from a dog attack in 2022.
Karin's life was a beautiful mosaic, filled with diverse experiences and heartfelt connections. She was truly one of a kind, with a wicked sense of humor and a spirit that radiated love and individuality. She will be remembered for her resilience and generosity and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
A funeral service for Karin will be held Friday, January 10, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Emanuel Synagogue, 900 NW 47th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73118. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Emanuel Hebrew Cemetery Oklahoma City, 10600 S Western Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73170.
