Karol Cheatwood

Karol Cheatwood, 76, of Choctaw, Oklahoma passed away on November 18, 2021 in Choctaw, Oklahoma. She was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma to John Dalton and Zula Lavada (Moon) Morrel on January 2, 1945. Karol was married to Bryan Lee Cheatwood on July 1, 1967. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Central Oklahoma (Formally, Central State University) and taught English, Spanish and Yearbook for Harrah Schools. Karol loved sewing, quilting, porcelain dolls, reading, crossword puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, playing Trivial Pursuit, and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed shopping with her sisters and time with her grandchildren. Karol and Bryan also enjoyed fun vacations to Branson, Eureka Springs and Broken Bow. Karol is preceded in death by her parents, John and Zula Morrel; Brother, Jack Morrel; Sister, Shirley Jeanson; Father and Mother-in-law, John and Wanda Cheatwood. She is survived by her Husband of 54 years, Bryan Cheatwood; Son, Russell Cheatwood; Daughters, Kellie Corey and Husband J.R. and Staci Young; Grandchildren, Shelby, Joshua, and Brady Young and Mason and Marlee Corey; Brothers, Dr. Jim Morrel and Wife Sue, Reece Morrel and Wife LaRheta, and Bob Morrel and Wife Suzanne; Sisters, Doryce Livingston and Husband Lewis and Joyce Allen and Husband Jim; Sister-in-law, Johnetta Dickerson and her Husband Gary; Brother-in-law, Bryce Cheatwood and Wife Vicki; and host of nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends. Karol's family is especially grateful for the skilled and loving care provided to her by Abby Olivas and Kindful Hospice A visitation for Karol will be held Monday, November 22, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Grace Church, 100 S. Choctaw Rd., Choctaw, OK 73020. A committal service will occur Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Elmwood Cemetery, 1800 N. Choctaw Rd., Choctaw, OK 73020.
