Larry Doyle King of Jones, 79, passed away peacefully in his home October 18th, following a long illness. He was born December 17th, 1935 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to James and Marjorie King. His loving wife of 57 years, Patti, preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughters Cathy and Ron Wehr of Edmond and Shari and Rob Drennan of Owasso. He loved his many grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed their many visits.
He graduated and played football for Putnam City. He was also in the Marine Corps and Retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas Co. after 35 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, traveling to Santa Fe and Tunica, turquoise jewelry, southwestern art and casinos. He was an avid sports fan but really enjoyed watching his Oklahoma Sooners and Dallas Cowboys play football. He loved his dog "Missy" who was always by his side. He was tough and strong while also kind and gentle. He was our loving dad, and he will be missed. Graveside service is at 10 am Monday October 26th, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
