

Larry Dean Rivers, of Midwest City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on September 12, 2024. Larry was born in Oklahoma City on April 3, 1944. He married his wife Freda on July 15, 1964, and they celebrated 60 years together on July 15, 2024.
He is also survived by his daughter Kimberly Ginn and her husband Joseph Ginn; brother Ron Rivers and his wife Anneka; grandchildren Travis Hurtt, Mattie Hurtt, Kaylee Ginn, and Ashlee Ginn; great-grandchildren Isabella, Isaiah, and Amelia; nephews Ronnie Miller, David Miller, and Cody Rivers; and niece Michelle Hampton.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Deanna Braaten, his sister Karen Hampton, and his parents, George and Hazel Rivers.
Larry served with the US Navy from 1962 to 1964 and with the US Navy Reserve from 1964 to 1967.
He was an offset pressman at the Oklahoma Journal and later at Tinker AFB. He worked as a print technician at HQ 95th Division, US Army Reserve Center, Midwest City, Oklahoma, before his retirement in 2003.
Larry loved gardening and lawn work, going to the casinos, OSU football, OU softball, Fox News Channel, the Hunger Games movies, Frank Sinatra, Big Band, and classic country music. He also loved taking long walks with his dog Muffin.
A visitation for Larry will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A funeral will occur Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A burial will occur Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 N Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73141.
