Laura Barton Lewis, 100 year-old resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away Feb. 19, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born May 27, 1916, she was the daughter of Cloud Thrasher Barton and Rosa Maria Capulett Barton. Laura was a homemaker and military wife. She was an avid reader her entire life. Laura also loved sewing and gardening. She was a former longtime resident of Ft. Worth, Texas. Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Cloud Thrasher Barton and Rosa Maria Barton; her husband James V. Lewis; brothers, William Barton; C. T. Barton, Jr.; and Woodrow Barton; sisters, Ava Wheaton; and Mary Kitchell. Survivors include 1 sister, Margaret Scears of Midwest City, Oklahoma; 2 nephews, Michael Scears and his wife Kristie of Midwest City, Oklahoma; and David Scears and his wife Lory Turner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017 at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 N. Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73141.
