
She attended United College, and was employed by the Canadian Army and TransCanada Airlines Winnipeg as telex operator for 11 years. She married Sam Stein in 1954 in a civil ceremony in Tulsa, OK. They also had a religious marriage ceremony in Winnipeg, Canada, soon after.
Between 1955-1978 she and Sam were an Allied Officer host family to 96 military students from more than fifteen countries. In February 2004, Lillian and Sam were presented with a plaque honoring their years of service to the Allied Officer host family program.
Lillian was active in the Lawton community as a member of the Lawton Women's Forum working with the Ft. Sill International Student Division, and also the Red Cross, the Chamber of Commerce, The SW Oklahoma Blood Institute and many more. Lillian also worked for Northrop Worldwide Aircraft Services Inc. in 1978.
Lillian is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elisabeth and Richard of OKC, OK. Two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Debra of Lawton, OK and Larry and Maribeth of Oak Park, Il. Five grand children and nine great grand children.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Sam, in 2005. Her parents Israel and Ethel Cohn.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 26th, 2013 at the Emanuel Hebrew Cemetery located at 10600 S Western, Oklahoma City, OK. (Just south of S 104th St on Western)
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the SW Oklahoma Blood Institute.
