Loretta Jo Hager

She is predeceased by her sister, Jacquelyn Bailey. She is survived by her brothers: Darrel, his wife Yim, and their children Ty, Stacy, and Joe Lee; David, his wife Charlotte, their children Tammy, Amber, Ashley, and Justin; Harley, his wife Lolann, their children Kelly and Kevin; and James, his wife Alma, and their children Geoffrey and Matt. She is also survived by her sister’s children, Kat and Ashley, her dear friend Pat Wathen, and BonE Baby Bear.

A Celebration of Life for Loretta will be held Monday, August 5, 2024 at 10:00 AM at First Christian Church, 201 E 2nd St, Edmond, OK 73034. Following the service, friends and family are invited to Johnnie's Charcoal Broiler, 33 E 33rd St, Edmond, OK 73013.

Coach Hager's love for her players was evident both on and off the court and field. She taught her athletes the physical skills to be highly successful in a competitive sports environment as well as life lessons which allowed them to flourish outside athletics. She had the innate ability to encourage each athlete's individual strengths and simultaneously bring those individuals together as a team that was stronger than the sum of its parts. While a disciplinarian with a strong sense of appropriate behavior both on and off the court and field, she had a wonderful sense of humor, a quick smile and a twinkle in her eye. She cared for and believed in her student athletes. They will tell you they are better people because she was their Coach.
