

Lydia L. Heinrichs Koop Krause, age 101, went to be with the Lord on July 28, 2011. Mrs. Krause was born in a sod house near Kirk, Colorado on February 28, 1910, the second of 12 children of Jacob and Mary Heinrichs. At the age of 17 her parents and family moved to Enid, Oklahoma where she met and married her husband J.D. Koop. She continued her education and became a nurse, working many happy years in that field, primarily at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid. She was an excellent seamstress, loved reading and gardening, and was a very loving and devoted mother and grandmother. After retiring, Lydia and J.D. moved to Reedley, California to be near her family for five years, then returned to Oklahoma City. In 1998 she moved to Marietta, Georgia to be near her daughter. Lydia was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Enid. Upon returning to Oklahoma City, she was a member of The Baptist Temple church for over 20 years. She later joined the First Baptist Church of Smyrna, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, J.D. Koop, son Jim Koop, and husband of six years, John Krause. Survivors include one sister, Linda Plett of San Jose, California, son Edwin H. Koop and wife Carol of Oklahoma City, daughter Luella M. Burtz and husband Bill of Marietta, Georgia, daughter-in-law Esther Koop of Joplin, Missouri, five grandchildren, Mike (Kayanne) Burtz, Carol Burtz (Bob) Davis, Kenneth (Diane) Burtz, Alan (Maki) Koop, and Kim Koop; eight great grandchildren, Kristen, Lauren, Jessica, Melissa, Andrew, Katie, Jason, and Hana; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel, 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City, OK. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid,
