

Lynda was born February 18, 1948 in Oklahoma City, the daughter of Hugh Manley Robinson and Joy Rukes Robinson. She graduated from Classen High School in 1966. On April 18, 1973, Lynda married Dan Brooks, her high school sweetheart. Shortly after she married, Lynda began her career in the oil and gas industry at Sohio Petroleum Company. She started as a lease record clerk in the Land Department. After leaving Sohio, she was employed at a number of independent oil and gas companies in Oklahoma City. By the end of her career in the oil and gas industry, she had risen to the position of Landman. In 1988, Lynda decided to join her husband’s family business, Precision Parts and Remanufacturing, where she held the position of Office Manager and Comptroller. Lynda and Dan worked together for over 26 years.
Lynda was an enthusiast of a variety of sports, but she was most passionate about OU football. . Lynda was a lifelong OU fan who cheered for her beloved Sooners and knew how to call the shots better than the coaches. She had the opportunity to meet Barry Switzer once and told him exactly how she thought he should handle the team! She and Dan showed their support by making yearly donations to the OU Sooner Club.
Dan and Lynda enjoyed traveling to places all around the world; China, Germany, Australia, England, Italy, Israel, just to name a few. But Lynda’s favorite destination was Cabo san Lucas, Mexico. It was an annual destination for Lynda’s birthday. Many friends and family had taken the trip with them over the years where Lynda and Dan introduced them to favorite restaurants and sites.
Lynda is survived by her loving husband, Dan Brooks; sister, Karen Saville; niece Traci Conine along with her husband Mark and children Brady and Brittany; her mother-in-law, Mary Brooks; sister-in-law, Deanne Brooks and her children Ryan and Kyle Brooks and step-daughter, Christie McElroy with her children J.T. and Jordyn McElroy; brother-in-law, Bryan Brooks; and sister-in-law, Karen Eisenhower along with her husband, Cliff and children Katie and Carly Eisenhower.
Lynda was preceded in death by her father, Hugh Manley Robinson and her mother, Joy Rukes Robinson; brother-in-law, Garry Saville; brother-in-law, Mark Brooks; and father-in-law, Bob Brooks.
Special thanks should be given to Dennis Cobb of Edmond, Oklahoma; Cindy Pylant of Arlington, Texas; and Valerie Martin of Maryland. All are longtime, trusted friends of Dan and Lynda, coming to their aid in this time of need. Their friendship and support will always be valued.
Also cherished by Lynda are all of her friends who would gather together on Friday nights to give her support, comfort, and laughter in the last few months of her life.
Services will be held Saturday, September 13 at 4:00 at the Hahn-Cook Funeral Home at 6600 Broadway Extension in Oklahoma City.
