

Margaret JoAnn Fulton Lee, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, at the age of 93 in Arlington, Texas. She was born on January 1, 1933, in Sterling, Kansas, to William Donnell Fulton and Alyce Byrd Green Fulton.
JoAnn was a woman of grace, kindness, and deep faith. She was a devoted Christian whose life was a testament to living with love and compassion. JoAnn lived in various places throughout her life, including Oklahoma City, Monroe, Louisiana, and Allen, Texas, but her heart always remained with her family and loved ones.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of family, and her infectious sense of humor. Margaret had a natural gift for bringing joy to others, whether through her creativity, her laughter, or simply by offering a listening ear. She never spoke harshly of anyone and was a beacon of warmth and acceptance. Everyone who met her, instantly loved her.
JoAnn’s talents were many. She had a passion for fashion and was known for always dressing up with grace and style. She loved to sew, creating beautiful clothes and crafts, and built intricate stained glass lamp shades and window hangings that added beauty to her home. Her love for decorating was not just limited to her own space; she enjoyed helping her daughters decorate their homes, sharing her eye for design. JoAnn was also an avid knitter and needle pointer, creating countless handmade treasures for her family and friends.
Her perfect day was spent with her loved ones, where laughter and togetherness filled the air. She taught her family countless life skills and, above all, showed them how to live a Godly life, full of love, kindness, and grace.
JoAnn married the love of her life, Melvin Lewis Lee, on August 6, 1988, and they enjoyed 35 beautiful years of marriage before his passing July 4, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Donnell and Alyce Byrd Fulton, daughter, Margot Elaine Dietwiler, her sister Barbara Stephens (Tommy) and her beloved grandson Preston Lockhart.
JoAnn is survived by her loving children: Anna Beth Marrs Reagan (Mike) of Allen, Texas and Dana Lynn Marrs Myers (Mike) of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren: James Lockhart (Christy), Polly Alyce Chesler (Troy) and Walker Wood (Leah.) She also leaves her 3 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as her beloved fur baby, Daisy Mae.
Viewing will be Thursday, April 9th from 5 pm to 8 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
A celebration of JoAnn’s life will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 10, 2026 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest next to Mel at Rose Hill Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, in honor of her great-great-grandson, Craig Brandon Barnett, the family asks that donations be made to the Angelman Foundation at Angelman.org.
Margaret’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
