

Margaret Thompson Simmons was born July 31, 1919, in Alabama City, Alabama. After a brief illness she passed on to be with her Heavenly Father on November 29, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings and her first husband, Larry Thompson. Margaret was a faithful member of May Avenue United Methodist Church for over 50 years, where she met C. M. Simmons. She and C. M. were married in May of 1989. They were happily married until C. M.'s death on March 10, 2012. Margaret and C. M. lived at the Statesman Club for several years where they had many wonderful friends. Margaret is survived by a brother, Paul Crowder of California; her daughter Suzanne Leggett and her husband Freddy; Stepson Steve Simmons and wife Darlene of Dallas, TX.; stepdaughter Gail Griffin and her husband Tommy of Oklahoma City. Grandchildren include granddaughter Kelli Bush and husband Korey of Ft. Worth, TX.; Jace Leggett of Oklahoma City; Erin Morphew and her husband Collin of Dallas, TX.; Anthony Simmons of Houston, TX.; Tanner Simmons and wife Reagan of Denver, CO.; Taylor Griffin and wife Marieka of Los Angeles, CA.; and Blake Griffin and son Ford of Los Angeles, CA. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the 11th Floor, and the 4th Floor ICU of St. Anthony Hospital, and especially Dr. Tamara Holloway, for their exceptional care and compassion. They were all very professional and at the same time comforting to the family. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Cornerstone United Methodist Church (formerly May Avenue United Methodist Church) at Northwest 25th and May, Oklahoma City. Graveside Services will be 1:00pm, Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Rose Hill Burial Park.
