Maria Isabel Alvarez Zavala

Maria was born on August 5, 1975 in Juarez, Mexico to Ruben Alvarez and Maria Conception Zavala. She spent her childhood in El Paso, Texas before returning back to Juarez. She then had two children, Gilberto and Magaly and worked hard as a single mother to raise them. In 1997, she met the love of her life, Hector Valenzuela, and together they had two children: Jaquelyn and Lecly. She worked tirelessly as a homemaker and in 2008, they moved to Oklahoma City to raise their children where she then took on jobs as a baker and housekeeper. She spent the last few years working at Life.Church in Midwest City where she made many wonderful friends.

It was a goal of Maria to attain her residency in the United States, and she was proudly able to achieve that goal. She enjoyed cooking for her family, going for car rides, and listening to music – especially rap music with her daughters. She will be remembered as a loud, funny, independent and strong woman who was helpful, loving and caring. Above all else, she cherished her kids, grandkids, and the rest of her family, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her children: Gilberto Alvarez and wife Kimberly, Magaly Alvarez and her husband, Everardo Sanchez, Jaquelyn Valenzuela and her Husband Dustin Heffron, and Lecly Alvarez and her husband Juan Gonzalez; grandkids: Angel Alvarez, Angie Alvarez, Janelle Sanchez, and Isabella Heffron Alvarez; and siblings: Maribel Alvarez, Ruben Alvarez, Sandra Alvarez, Sara Alvarez, and Nancy Alvarez.
