Martha Bong Vu

Mrs. Martha Bông Thị Vũ passed away peacefully due to natural causes on Monday, February 3, 2025. She was surrounded and comforted by family members at her residence in Oklahoma City at the time of her passing. Mrs. Vũ was 89 years old.

Mrs. Vũ was born on January 01, 1936 in Phát Diệm, Việt Nam to the late Nhuận Văn Vũ and Tấm Thị Nguyễn. She lived her life as a dedicated homemaker, and family served as one of her top priorities. She was an involved mother and grandmother, who you could find at every significant event in her children & grandchildren’s lives. She also lived her life as a devout Catholic, serving as a member of Hội Các Bà Mẹ Công Giáo Nhà Thờ Đức Bà and Hội Lêgio-Mariae Giáo xứ Thánh Anrê Dũng Lạc.

Mrs. Vũ was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Anthony Thịnh Văn Nguyễn, her parents, older sister, and younger brother. Mrs. Vu is survived by her children Hoa Đức Nguyễn (Thiện Văn Lâm), Hạnh Đức Nguyễn (Đào Thị Trần), Hùng Đức Nguyễn (Bích Lệ Thị Trần), Thu Huyền Thị Nguyễn (Thanh Hữu Nguyễn), Thu Hường Thị Nguyễn (Thành Gia Nguyễn), Thu Hương Thị Nguyễn (Lâm Văn Hà), Thu Hà Thị Nguyễn (Hòa Vũ Nguyễn), and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 12:00 pm at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 3214 N Lake Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73118. Interment to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. Very Reverend Richard Stansberry and Reverend Thành Nguyễn will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 6, 2025 and Friday, February 7, 2025 from 1 pm to 9 pm at the funeral home.
