Marvin was born in Stuttgart, Arkansas to Leo and Elsa Marie Galvin on May 11, 1924 and passed away peacefully on May 1, 2013. Marvin proudly served in the 483rd Bombardment Group in WWII, receiving a Certificate of Valor for 50 combat missions in Mediterranean theater. He was self-employed until retirement in 1982. After moving to Oklahoma City from Florida in 2004, Marv spent much of his time watching sports and Thunder basketball. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Vera, his parents and brothers, Leo and Joe. Marv is survived by 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren, 3 nieces and 1 nephew. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 3, 2013 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
