

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marvin Waine Vanover, who departed this life September 29, 2025. He was born on August 27, 1937, in Delaware County Oklahoma, and throughout his life, he touched the hearts of many with kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit. He loved his family whom he guided until his final breath.
Marvin was a deeply loved and cherished son, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His life of service set an example for his family and friends. He served in both the United States Army at Fort Sill, OK and the Air Force in Rome, NY, retiring as an Aircraft Engine Mechanic at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma. He was an active member of his community and church. His retirement years were spent cattle ranching which he enjoyed immensely prior to becoming a neighbor to his youngest daughter, Kimberly Ann (Vanover) Kolar and was surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann (Newsom) Vanover, his daughters Vicky Sue (Hilton) Vanover her husband Roger and Kimberly Ann (Vanover) Kolar and her husband Kevin, seven grandchildren, Richard Wayne Calkins, April Christine Calkins, Brandon Kropfinger, his wife Jennifer, Kandace (Kropfinger) Miesen, her husband James, Tabitha (Kolar) Hamby, her husband Danny and Kyle Kolar and Athena, Naomi Kolar, 15 great grandchildren, his brother Von Dean Vanover, his wife Katherine and Lila Mae (Vanover) Judkins, her husband James, many cousins, nephews and nieces who are blessed to be loved and cherished by him.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Lafayette Vanover and Stella Marie (McCombs) Linn, his brother William Vanover and sister Donna Maxine (Vanover) Denman.
A funeral service will be held on October 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Marvin Waine Vanover are invited to attend and celebrate his life and legacy.
Marvin Waine Vanover will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
