Mary Lou Denny of Oklahoma City passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska, on February 26, 2018, her 91st birthday. She was born in 1927 to Flora Ohlau Warren and Nova A. Warren in Centralia, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern, on June 19, 2017, and is survived by her daughter, Joanna, and son, Blair and his wife, Deanna, grandsons Phillip Denny, Grant Davis Denny and his wife, Lori, and Greg McPherson, and 5 great grandchildren, and brother-in-law, Donald L. Denny and his wife, Pat. After her father’s untimely death in 1931, her mother and her mother’s best friends, Addie and William Miller, raised her. She graduated from Centralia Township High School in 1944 and married Glen Le Vern Denny, her husband of 70 and 1/2 years, on December 15, 1946. A homemaker, wife, and mother, Mary Lou also worked in retail sales and clerical functions at Dick Christman Appliances, Affiliated Anesthesiologists, the Santa Fe Company, and Queen Anne Cafeteria, all in Oklahoma City. She loved all animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed reading and playing bridge as her favorite pastimes. Graveside Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2018 at Rose Hill Burial Park with Memorial Services to follow at Lakeside United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. The family will greet friends for a reception following the services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Free to Live Animal Shelter in Edmond, Oklahoma.
