Mary Nicolosi (Dennis) was born on April 10, 1928, in the town of Wesley in Southeast Oklahoma’s Pittsburgh County, Mary Dennis grew up on a hardworking family farm as one of eleven children—and a twin. A natural athlete and competitor, she excelled in sports at Kiowa High School, often spurred on by her friendly rivalry with her twin brother.
After graduation, Mary left the family farm to pursue new opportunities in Oklahoma City, where she attended business school and embarked on her professional journey. There she met and married Leslie Nicolosi, and together they built Nicolosi’s Ranch House Restaurant (1948–1988) into an Oklahoma City icon and beloved household name.
Beyond her work in the restaurant industry, Mary dedicated much of her life to community service and mentorship. She volunteered with Al-Anon Family Groups for 55 years, supporting families and friends of alcoholics through compassion and leadership. She also devoted 50 years to the Sooner Saddle Club of Oklahoma City, an all-girl horseback drill team, where she performed at numerous rodeos, mentored young women, and helped fundraise for the Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Pageant—all while raising her four children: Leslie, Patti, Phillip, and Sammy.
A devout Catholic, Mary has lived her life guided by faith, generosity, and service to others. Her enduring dedication to her family, faith, and community continues to inspire all who know her.
She was preceded in death by many family members and friends, including her son Phillip and husband Leslie.
A visitation open to all will be held at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, 7720 South Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK, on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Mary's Funeral Service will be for family only and takes place at Advantage Funeral Home Chapel, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 2:00 pm. A celebration of life will take place at a later date, still to be determined, for all to attend.
