May 19, 2023 saw the long and lovely life of Mary Rogers come to a peaceful end. Mary loved laughter, the company of her many good friends, her devoted family and church, travel as well as delicious food and especially chocolate. She was born in Oklahoma City over 91 years ago to Grace Drabek and Myles Smith, was a proud “Red Skirt” at Central High School and graduated from OSU in 1953. She was married to state Senator Cleeta John Rogers for over 40 years and the proud mother of three children, Rosemary Myles, Randel C.J., and Rodman Shelton Rogers who adored her deeply. She is survived by Rosemary and Rodman as well as a large extended family and network of friends, all of whom she considered gifts from God. A celebration of her life will be held in the Historic Chapel at Memorial Park (13400 N. Kelly Ave, OKC) Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 2:00 pm. A visitation will be held at Hahn-Cook funeral home (6600 Broadway Ext. OKC) on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm and Sunday, June 4, 2023 from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, Mary requested donations to Care for OKC, a free food/clothing bank at the First Baptist Church (1201 N. Robinson Ave. OKC, OK 73103).
