Maureen J. La Burt, a longtime resident of Tuxedo, NY, and current resident of Midwest City, OK, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023. Daughter of the late, Robert C La Burt and Margaret S La Burt, and sister to the late, Lindsay A. Lofrisco.
Maureen was a fiercely brilliant woman who was giving, loving, kind, and hilarious. She was sharp-witted and lived life to the very end with guttural laughter, always taking care of others.
She is survived by her daughter, Megan A. La Burt-Barba, son-in-law, Mark Thompson, and her proudest achievement, granddaughter, Marleigh M Thompson. She is also survived by her Brother, Fr. Brian La Burt, and sister, Barbara Barba as well as her step-daughters Stacey and Courtney; her nieces, Sharon, Adrienne, and Elise and nephews, Peter and Robert.
There will be a memorial held in Tuxedo, NY at a later date not yet determined. Memorial donations may be made to her brother Fr. Brian’s church, St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 800 Gornto Road, Valdosta, GA 31602.
