Melody Burns Doty

Melody Lynn Doty passed away peacefully in her home in Oklahoma City on the morning of June 12th 2019, surrounded by people she loved. She was born February 20th 1956, also in Oklahoma City. She attended school at Putnam City before going to work for her family’s business, Burns Paving Company. Melody was preceded in death by her parents, EL and Georgia Burns, her brother, Darryll Burns and her son, Edward Doty. She is survived by her husband, Salvador Herrera, her Daughter, Elizabeth Doty, her grandson, Payton Woolard, her brothers; Eldon Larry Burns and George Burns, George’s wife Marianna, many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Melody was a kind, caring soul. She loved people, and people loved her. She enjoyed cooking for people and loved having a dinner table full of family and friends to talk and laugh with. She was generous almost to a fault. She loved spoiling her dogs Boxer, Baby Girl and Blanca. She was an incredible Mother, Grandmother, Wife, Sister, Aunt and Friend and she will be missed.

Rest in peace, Mel. We all love you. Memorial Services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 17th at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper.
