Michael Scott Carrington Jr., known to those he loved as Mike, passed away on February 26, 2025, at the age of 43. Born on July 15, 1981, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Kathy Carrington Hankins and Michael Scott Carrington Sr., Mike was a lifelong resident of Oklahoma City, where he also said his final goodbye.
Mike's early years were spent navigating the halls of Del City High School in Del City, Oklahoma. Mike was a hard worker his whole life, his work ethic will be missed dearly. Mike was a family man at heart. He leaves behind a beautiful family, including his beloved wife, Samantha Carrington, and his cherished mother, Kathy Carrington Hankins of Wedowee, AL, and his father, Michael Scott Carrington Sr. of Midwest City, OK. Mike's legacy continues through his three children, Kylah Carrington, Michael Scott Carrington III, and Kaydence Carrington, as well as his three stepchildren, Corbin Stanton, Sebastian Stanton, and Alexandria Stanton. He was a brother to four sisters: Jennifer Coles of Del City, OK, Shawna and Richard Williams of Midwest City, OK, Misty and Denson Knight of Wedowee, AL, and Samantha and Mike Risky of Okinawa, Japan. His extended family was vast, with many cousins, loved ones and countless nieces and nephews spread across the state, all of whom he held dear. Mike was the epitome of joy and creativity, known for his funny and thoughtful nature. His ability to craft stories and jokes was unparalleled, bringing laughter and light into every room he entered. But beyond his humor, music was his companion, and he had an uncanny ability to curate playlists that could elevate any gathering or quiet moment. And yes, he always enjoyed a Newport, a simple pleasure for him. Beyond his personal interests, Mike's creative spirit was evident in how he approached life. He had an inventive mind, always dreaming up new ideas, whether it was for a fun family outing or a home project. His hands were rarely still, as he was often found fixing something around the house. Michael Scott Carrington Jr. will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His laughter will echo in the hearts of his loved ones, his wise and comforting words will remain a guiding force, and his spirit will continue to inspire those he has left behind. As we bid farewell to a man who was so much to so many, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on through the countless memories he has created with each of us. Mike's journey on this earth was a testament to the love he shared, the joy he spread, and the lives he touched. He departed from this world too soon, but the impact of his 43 years will be felt for generations to come. Mike Carrington Jr. was a cherished son, husband, father, brother, and friend, and his story does not end here—it is carried forward in the laughter, love, and creativity of his family and friends. Rest in peace, Mike; you are forever in our hearts.
