Miranda Jo Andrews was born in Ponca City, moving to Oklahoma City and then Edmond as a child. During her school years, she was involved in Girl Scouts, photography, FFA, ROTC, band and did volunteer work. Miranda loved to bowl and was proud of her high 222 score. She supported her bowling habit by working at the bowling alley and competing in leagues and tournaments while in school. She attended Edmond Santa Fe High School and Francis Tuttle Vo-Tech, graduating in 1998. After attending UCO, where she was a member of Alpha XI Delta, she worked for Fleming Foods, Shelter Insurance and Adfitech. Most recently, Miranda was a Younique Consultant which allowed her to be a stay at home mom.
Miranda’s passion was her family, whether it be on a ballfield, at the lake or hanging on the couch watching a movie. No one came before them or between them. Her nieces and nephew loved to be with “Aunt ‘Manda” playing and hanging out. Miranda was a compassionate person, always concerned and caring about those she loved. She had a huge heart and would do anything for anyone in need. Miranda enjoyed playing games and doing puzzles with her family, reading, swimming, other outdoor activities and sports (especially OU football), shopping and all things glitzy and glamourous!
Miranda was diagnosed with cancer in late 2016, later it was determined to be metastatic melanoma. She did not want anyone to know that she was fighting this disease, remaining full of faith, upbeat and optimistic to those around her.
She is survived by husband John Andrews, daughter Caylee Andrews, son Nic Conyers, step-sons Dylan Andrews and Jaxon Tipton, mother and step-father Carol and Mark Watkins, father David Gaddis, brother Adam Gaddis, sister Rachael Ford and husband Jared, their children Audrey, Ethan, Scarlett and Evelyn, and step-brother Logan Watkins and wife Kaitlyn. Miranda is also survived by her grandpa, Mel Gaddis, aunts and uncles Cindy and Fred Wigley, Charlene and Wes Rehorn, Roger and Leigh Gaddis, Daniel and Sally Gaddis, Donnie and Janice Gaddis, and Daryl and Cliffa Gaddis, and cousins: Samantha Wigley, Leia Charak, Steyer Rehorn, Brian Gaddis, Brad Gaddis, Kaite Bolton, Kayla Gaddis, Jennifer Clapp and Michael Gaddis. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Nancy Gaddis, Bobbie Smith and J.B. Smith. Special thanks to all of the caring compassionate persons that were involved in her care at both Stephenson Cancer Center and Russell Murray Hospice.
Service to be held at 1:00 on Monday at Putnam City Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, a fund has been set up for the benefit of Nic and Caylee and donations can be mailed to Carol Watkins at 9474 St. Clair, Guthrie, OK 73044.
