

Nancy Neighbors, former educator and long time resident of Choctaw, passed away at her home on Friday. Nancy was born on November 22, 1930 in Morris, Oklahoma and she entered her eternal home on January 11, 2008. Nancy taught business education classes at Choctaw High School for 22 years. She retired in 1986.
She and her husband, Don served for one year in Paraguay as teachers at the Asuncion Christian Academy. She was an active member at First Baptist Church, Choctaw for the past 44 years. She served in many areas of ministry including teaching, singing in the choir, working in the church library and serving mobile meals. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Oklahoma Retired teachers. She also served as a volunteer for the Oklahoma Blood Institute.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Neighbors of North Richland Hills, Texas and Debra Neighbors of Yukon, one brother, Lester Ward of Mountain View, Missouri , one sister, Nina Means of Del City and Helen Stand of Chicago, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald, son, David, her parents, three sisters and one brother. She will be missed by a host of family and friends.
A funeral services for Nancy Neighbors will be held on Tuesday, January 15, at 10:00am at First Baptist Church Choctaw. Interment will be held at the Morris Cemetery, Morris, Oklahoma at 3:00pm.
