Natasha LaVonne August was gifted into this world on March 26, 1984 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Kenneth and Gale August. She was the first of four children between her mother and father and the third oldest of eight brothers and sisters. Tasha spent most of her younger years being a loving and supportive daughter and an older sister to her siblings. She aided her mother in the upbringing of her younger siblings. She was the epitome of the best big sister a person could ever imagine. Cooking, cleaning, helping mom around the house and disciplining as needed.
After grade school, Tasha attended Putnam City High School and graduated in 2002. While in high school, she also attended Francis Tuttle Technology Center and received her CNA and AUA in Health Science 1 & 2 certifications. After graduating Tasha became the loving mother to her first son Tommy Conway Jr. in 2003. Being a new and first time mother may have been challenging, but Natasha never stopped pursuing her dreams. She later received her medical assisting and phlebotomy licenses in 2004 at Platt College in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. With her certifications, licenses and nurturing spirit, Natasha entered the working world knowing exactly what she wanted to do and that was to help people and save lives.
After working as a Medical Assistant to various clinics, including a retirement home, an urgent care clinic, etc. She began her journey with OU Physicians GI Clinic and then transferred to the OU Prenatal Diagnostic Center as Lead RMA, dedicating a total of 16 years with OU. She was an unforgettable, selfless employee/coworker to her OU family and she cared for her patients deeply.
During her career with OU she birthed her second son Elyjah Knight in 2009, and continued to be a self-sacrificing and dedicated mother to her sons. She loved her family dearly and was the favorite auntie to her nieces and nephews by supplying love, life lessons, the best car rides, and all the candy they ever wanted. She loved her sons like no other. She bent over backwards for them and made the impossible, possible. She did anything and everything in her power to mold them into the respectable and structured young men they are today. She always put them first in any situation and made sure to show tough love when needed. Natasha was the best mother her sons could ask for and she loved them with all her heart.
Natasha was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Fronnie August and Willie August Sr.; her maternal great- grandmother Queen Ester Gilbert, her maternal grandparents Joyce Edwards and Sylvester Bullard Jr.; and her niece Ja’Christa August.
Natasha leaves behind a plethora of family and friends that include but are not limited to: her sons, Tommy Conway Jr. and Elyjah Knight; her mother and father, Gale August and Kenneth August; her 5 sisters and 2 brothers, Christal August, Kenneth August, Matthew August, Kendra August, Simone Turner, Nedra August and Kimberly August; and her 9 nephews and 14 nieces.
Not only was Natasha a beloved sister, mother, daughter and friend she was a light in anyone she crossed paths with. When she walked in the room she brung life. She would make anybody’s day just from her presence. Tasha will be missed in ways she never imagined but will always be remembered for being a strong, genuine, funny and caring woman that loved her family and cherished her friendships.
