She was born at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City on Sept. 24, 1940, to her parents Theodore and Gertrude (Schwarz) Gales. Patsy and her sister, Sandy grew up in Oklahoma City where she graduated from Catholic High School in 1958 and later, the University of Oklahoma where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority.
Patsy was a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend who enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and laughing. Her sparkling wit and tender heart made her a joy to be around, and she loved to host her family at her home for the holidays, where her most famous dish was her broccoli casserole.
Left to carry on Patsy’s love of life are her children Scott, and his wife Katharine; Nick and his wife, Billie; Shaun and his wife, Stefne; her grandchildren Whit, Jordan, Jacob, Caleb, and Yohannes; her sister Sandy Shapard, her children and grandchildren; and her beloved cat, Sunny Kitty.
A viewing will be held July 4th 8am-8pm at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Home in Oklahoma City. A graveside service to celebrate Patsy’s life will be held Thursday, July 5, 2018, at 11 am, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
