

Phillip Edward Green, MD, was born on October 20, 1931, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, to William Ralph Green and Lucia Mabel Boyd. He died July 9, 2015, in Oklahoma City. Dr. Green graduated from Seminole High School in 1949, the University of Oklahoma in 1952, and the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 1956. He joined the United States Air Force and was discharged in 1964 with the rank of major. He was trained and practiced psychiatric medicine at the Menninger Clinic in Topeka, Kansas, from 1964 until he moved to Oklahoma City in 1975. He practiced psychiatry in Oklahoma City from 1975 until his retirement in 2005. In his retirement he enjoyed oil painting and his farm and ranching operations.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Carol, and 5 children; Elizabeth Green of Topeka Kansas; Leslie Green Renzelman of Stevenson Ranch, California; Jeff Green and his wife Lisa of Eudora, Kansas; and James Green of Oklahoma City; Thomas Green of Oklahoma City; 4 grandchildren, Amy Green Esplund and her husband Todd of Lawrence, Kansas; Daniel Green of Eudora, Kansas; Caroline Renzelman of Los Angeles, California and Jessica Renzelman of Stevenson Ranch, California. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Green Durrett and her husband William Durrett, of Oklahoma City; and his brother Gregory Green, M.D. of Tulsa, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper, 6600 Broadway Extension on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 3 p.m.
