Godspeed Richard , you will be missed .
Richard was a calm voice of reason and authority at Surrey Hills and very well known and loved . I have many memories going far back . He was the very first captain of our RoughRider team 20 years ago and retired after two years undefeated . He took many of us to Shreveport 30 years ago on a golf/casino trip , and introduced me to mudbugs for dinner at Eddie's . He thru me into the pool 32 years ago at John and Brenda Hayes pool party for the Shilly Shally because he decided I needed to be thrown in , and I discovered then that he was also very strong [ no point in resisting ] . Richard will be missed by many friends .

I am so sorry to hear of Richard's passing. Much of my childhood was spent at your home or seeing him at the golf course. I will cherish the memories I have of him. You all are such an amazing family and I have always admired the evident love between Richard and Sherry.
May the thoughts and prayers of those who knew him be a comfort to you all in the time to come.

Richard was a good friend and always fun to be around, when Etta would bake chocolate chip cookies Richard would always ask when the next batch was coming. He was a good golfing buddy to many and when he wasn't golfing he would be checking on all to see how game was going. He and Sherri were always fun to see and be around. We pray that the lord will wrap his arms around the family and give them comfort. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all.

Richard will be remembered in many ways. His friendly and kind demeanor. His smile. His family. Tooling around in his golf cart checking to see how each team in the One o’clock group was doing. Congratulating you when you hit a good shot (which wasn’t very often for me). Playing gin rummy. And so much more. He was a true friend, and he will be missed! Prayers of peace and comfort for the family. God Bless!

Richard was always a sweet person. I remember him as a charming, sweet little boy; a mischeivious teenager, and a fine family man, He made a point of offering a kind word, offering help at anytime. I am sure he will always be remembered fondly. My prayers for Sherry and family to be comforted with fond memories of a fine husband and father.
