Roberta was born on April 3, 1929 in Tuttle, OK to C.M. and Gladys Hogan. She grew up and attended schools in Tuttle and OKC. Following high School, Roberta married George O. Mitchell and had three children. George managed plants for Wonder Bread, which led the family to live in Wichita, KS and OKC before George’s passing in 1988. In 1991Roberta met Edgar Davis at a local VFW dance and on Valentine’s Day in 1992 they were married.
The marriage to Ed Davis provided Roberta with two step children she loved like her own. Roberta enjoyed interior decorating, shopping, and traveling with Ed to Kansas City and Florida to visit his children. She was an independent woman who made friends with ease and never met a stranger. She was raised in the Baptist church but loved a chance to hit the dance floor where she had surprising talent and rhythm. Roberta Davis had a beautiful smile that could brighten the darkest day and she touched so many lives during her time here. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, first husband George Mitchell, and step-dad Paul Cummins. She is survived by her loving husband Ed Davis; 5 children: Don Mitchell, Gary Mitchell, Carolyn Sue Filken, Jeff Davis, and Janis McKinney. She is also survived by 10 grandkids and 13 great grandkids, as well as numerous other beloved family members.
