Robin Rene York

Robin Rene York, born May 29, 1958 to parents, Charles Eugene and Colleen Kay (Christopher) Wilhite. The Wilhite’s lived in Oklahoma City, OK, where Robin grew up and graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1976. She also regularly attended New.Church in Oklahoma City beginning in 2006.

Robin was a compassionate, intelligent woman. She was married for 46 years to Howard Wales York. During their 46 years of marriage, they added to their sweet family with the birth of her son, Taylor York. Robin’s family meant the world to her, she loved spending quality time with her son Taylor and eventually welcoming her daughter-in-law, Sydney, and fur baby grandson, Ivan, to the loving York clan. Over the years, Robin, Taylor, and Sydney were able to travel together to go on many trips across the world. And if she had her wish, she would have married Mickey Mouse at Disney World all those years ago; she was the biggest Mickey fan on the planet!

She lived for spending time with her family, friends, and grandson, Ivan, as well as being the life of the party. Robin was always grooving to some of her favorite music, the Doobie Brothers, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton, and Vince Gill. She also enjoyed listening to Christian music. Robin was always making everyone laugh and could spend many hours over a good meal while enjoying old stories. She was an avid sports fan, but an absolute diehard OU fan, especially the football team! Robin also loved cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the New York Yankees.

Robin was a deeply loved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and a wonderful friend. To know her would be to be in the presence of the life of the party, larger-than-life personality, and a pure heart of gold. She could make anyone laugh or smile, and she would give the shirt off her back for her others. Her legacy to live life full of laughter, happiness, bravery, courage, fight for what you love and putting others before yourself, will be carried on through her family and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Wilhite; mother, Colleen Wilhite; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Wilhite.

Robin is survived by her husband, Howard York of Oklahoma City, OK; son, Taylor York and wife, Sydney of Edmond, OK; brothers, Ed Wilhite of Moore, OK and Randy Wilhite and wife, Janet of Edmond, OK; fur grandson and light of her world, Ivan York; and granddaughter on the way in November of 2022, Blakely York. Robin also leaves behind one niece, four nephews, three great nieces and many honorary sons, daughters, and grandchildren to cherish her memory.

The memorial service scheduled in honor of Robin’s life is scheduled for Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at NewChurch, 9201 N. Rockwell Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73132.
