Romayne B. Kraft was born to Bess & Robert Mendelsohn on January 14, 1925 in New York City, N.Y. and passed away on February 4, 2019 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was educated at Columbia University, where she earned the honor of Phi Beta Kappa and a degree in Psychology. She married David I. Kraft, M.D. in 1949 and they were married until his death in 2008.
During her younger years she was a buyer for a large department store in New York City. When David moved his practice to Oklahoma City, they took up golf and greatly enjoyed traveling. She later started playing bridge and rummikub with friends. She also enjoyed singing accompanied by her mother, who was an accomplished pianist.
Romayne was preceded in death by her husband, David and son Bruce. She is survived by her son Alan and his wife Susie, their children; Clint and his wife Nichole of Oklahoma City, Megan Kerns and her husband Brian of Kansas City, Robert (Bob) Kraft and Benjamin Kraft of Oklahoma City. In addition she is survived by Bruce’s wife, Mary Lu Kraft and their two children; Caroline Miller and her husband Kirk of Oklahoma City and Jonathan Kraft of Oklahoma City. She is also survived by her very dear friends; Cheryl and Bill Bontempi and Drs. Salima and Iftikhar Ahmad all of Oklahoma City. We would like to thank the staff at Epworth Villa who made her last two years an enjoyable experience.
