

Roy was born on September 21, 1936 in Cassville, MO to Andrew and Loral (Stockton) Carterman. He attended Cassville High School in MO and following high school he met and married Barbara Faye Madison. The couple had three children. Roy enlisted in the US Army where he served with honor from 1955 to 1958. He spent much of his service stationed in places as Alaska where he attained the rank of Specialist Fourth Class.
It was during his time in the Army that Roy learned the skill of an electronics technician. Upon his honorable discharge from the service, Roy accepted a position as an Electronics Technician on Bomarc Missile Program with Boeing. It was during this time he attended Electronics School in Seattle. The Carterman family lived in Seattle, Washington, Ogden, Utah, and then back to Seattle where the family stayed for 13 years. In 1975, he was assigned to the AWACS program for two years, and thoroughly enjoyed his position. In 1977, Roy was assigned to Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City as a Technical Representative on the AWACS program which he stayed for two years and met Janeice Harmon. In 1979, Roy was transferred to Wichita, Kansas as a Hardware Manager Supervisor. In 1981, Roy married Janeice Harmon. They lived in Rose Hill, Kansas until he retired from Boeing after 32 years of service in October of 1991 with many honorable mentions, awards, and outstanding citations.
Roy enjoyed fishing, gardening, doing home improvement projects, working on electronics, and singing karaoke. He was a fun loving and ornery guy who found joy in making people laugh. He loved to travel with his wife and explore the country in their motorhome. Roy was extremely intelligent and equally as stubborn. He was raised in the Baptist church but attended Life.Church in his later years. He was a longtime member of the NRA and he was respected by his friends for his honesty and loyalty. Roy Carterman was a loving husband, a protective father, a proud grandfather, and a trusted friend and he will truly be missed by the many people whom he considered his friends.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janeice Carterman, daughter Cynthia Ann Andrade, granddaughter Jessica Andrade, two brothers Joseph V and Jacob M Carterman, 3 sisters Juda Kay Carterman, Loral Irene Carterman, and Emma Pauline Funk. Left behind to carry on his legacy of kindness and service are his two children: Greg Carterman of Howe, TX and Laural Malone and husband Chuck of Springdale, AR. He is also survived by a sister Imogene Kamees of Auburn, IL; six grandchildren: Roy Dunsworth, Hayley Dunsworth, Tessa Dunsworth, Alisa Anderson, Jennifer Andrade, and Robert Andrade; one great grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
