Ruth Louise Bunch

Ruth Louise Bunch, 87, of OKC passed from this life on February 27, 2019. Services have been entrusted to the care of Advantage Funeral & Cremation. A service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the Advantage Funeral Chapel at 2pm. Public visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 5 from 12-5pm and Wednesday from 9am to 9pm.

Ruth Louise Johnston was born on July 27, 1931 in Moro, AR to Clarence and Nettie (Weatherford) Johnston. She was raised in St. Louis, MO. In 1950, Ruth married Richard Talmadge Bunch. She was soon raising her three children: Steven, Thomas, and Rick. Two years before their marriage Richard enlisted with the USAF. The next 26 years of Ruth’s life was a whirlwind of change and exciting adventures. Ruth lived in OK, MS, NH, IL, CA, and even Africa.

Following the end of her husband’s honorable service to our country, they relocated to Oklahoma, where they spent the rest of their time together. Ruth accepted a job in administration with Shepler’s Western wear and was employed there for more than three decades and made so many friends.

When she was not working, Ruth enjoyed making chocolate pies, decorating cakes that she had made, and cooking the world’s best bacon. She loved to go to garage sales, playing bingo, but Sundays were spent listening to or watching tv minsters and listening to hymns. Ruth was a kind and generous woman with a big heart. She had a delightful personality which made it easy to make friends. Ruth was a loyal wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and a trusted friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband Richard Talmadge Bunch. Ruth is survived by her three sons: Steven, Thomas, and Rick Bunch, a brother Earl Johnston, as well as numerous grandkids, nieces, nephews, and other beloved family and friends.
