Sally Josephine Cook

Sally Josephine McCall Cook, a loving Baptist Christian mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed this life to her reward in Heaven on July 2, 2024 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Sally was born in Uniontown, Kentucky on December 8, 1931 to Ira and Zola McCall.

She married Frank Burton Cook Jr. on September 3, 1949 at the Base Chapel on Forbes Air Force Base south of Topeka, Kansas. Sally enjoyed yardwork, gardening, travelling, collecting antiques, watching Perry Mason and writing her close high school friend Clara George in Trenton, Missouri. For several years she worked at John A. Brown’s, Tinker Air Force Base, and Midwest City Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, parents Ira and Zola McCall, son Timothy Wayne Cook, brothers Gary McCall and Eastman McCall, and sister Virginia McCall Rakestraw.

Sally is survived by her son Rodney Cook and wife Barbara of Oklahoma City, daughter Debra Vowell and husband Butch of Shawnee, Oklahoma, daughter Marcy Potts of Chandler, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to Elara Caring Home Health and Hospice in Shawnee, Oklahoma in Sally Cook’s name.

A visitation for Sally will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 N Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73141.
