Samuel Elton Thompson, 84, passed away on August 6, 2011. Sam was born May 24, 1927 in Fallis, Oklahoma to Oham Chesley and Mary Esther (Finley) Thompson. Sam was a U.S. Navy veteran and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and his dirt work.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ada Adele Thompson; two grandchildren, Sammy A. Mayer and Samantha J. Oloizia; siblings, Naomi Murray, Freda Brown, Alvin, Harmon, Richard and Desmond Thompson. Survivors include his children, Mary Alice Thomas, Sandra Busby and husband Wayne, Joe Thompson and wife Debbie, Linda Mayer and husband Henry, Jimmy Thompson and wife Monica, Alvin Thompson and wife Becky, Kenneth Thompson, Eric Thompson and wife Penny, Joseph Lee Thompson and wife Jody; one sister, Mary Lou McClatchey of Harrah, Oklahoma; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the Wellston Cemetery, Wellston, OK. Services under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home.
