

Sarah Edna Davenport, 90, of Oklahoma City, passed away July 21, 2013. She was born July 4, 1923 in Killen, Alabama to Edward and Ada (Watson) Anthony. Sarah was a long time member of the West 10th Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. She retired from C.R. Anthony after almost 20 years in service to others through the retail store. She is survived by two sons, Max Davenport, Sr. and Michael Davenport, Sr. and his wife E. Janine; grandchildren, W. Brian and wife Sue, Diane Flaherty and husband Daniel, Michael, Jr. and wife Sandy, Maxie, Jr. and wife Marci Toerpe, Mathew and wife Andrea, and Candice Davenport; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Kelly, Bailey, Darren, Abigail, Grace, Karlee Davenport, Sarah, Rebecca, Jack, and Emmett Flaherty, Matthew Pranka and Brittany Little; sister, Evie Stover, brother, Charles Anthony and wife Jean, and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving extended family. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wm Dewey Columbus “Dump” Davenport; two sisters, Jackie Lee and Brunette Yates; daughter-in-law, Darlene Davenport and grandson, James Davenport. The family would like to extent special thanks to Sterling House of Bethany and to Harbor House Hospice for their care, concern, loving support and kindness to Sarah. The family will be available to greet friends during viewing and visitation Thursday evening, July 25th at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
