Shawn L. Franklin, 48, of Oklahoma City unexpectedly passed from this life on June 23, 2018. Services have been entrusted to the care of Advantage Funeral & Cremation of OKC and a service celebrating his life will be held at 2pm on Wednesday at the Sac and Fox Nation Community Building in Stroud with burial to follow at the Sac and Fox Cemetery. A wake service will be held at 7pm on Tuesday evening at the Community Building.
Shawn was born on July 8, 1969 in Claremore, OK. Shawn spent the majority of his life employed as a painting contractor working in both residential and commercial construction. He was a wonderful father, brother, and son, but also a loyal and caring friend. He was a peaceful soul but a character at heart. He enjoyed his family and friends and he always encouraged everyone to have a good time.
Shawn loved to travel, play horseshoes, listen to blues and soft rock, as well as cook his famous lasagna. The Franklin family asks that you remember Shawn for all the good he did for others and all the love he showed. He will truly be missed by all those whom he loved, as well as those who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Franklin Jr., a nephew, Mark Edward Franklin and niece Shelly Franklin. He is survived by his 4 children, Shalene, Shawndra, Shawn Jr. and Gary Franklin, mother Lois Franklin, sisters Jeannie and Marilyn, and his bother Martin. He is also survived by his grandkids, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
