Sonja Paulette Sochor, born April 15, 1942, passed away at home on August 2, 2023; her son Jack Langley comforted her till her final moments. Born in Oklahoma City to Lester Carlos and Elva Murl Jenkins, Sonja made the world hers starting in Oklahoma. Following her graduation from the University of Central Oklahoma and beginning her family, Sonja reached across the world. Living and raising her family in places such as Hawaii, California, Chicago, and Kansas City, her warmth and love carried her family through each day. Still, no matter where she called home, caring for family and friends guided her.
Wherever she called home, Sonja brought a tender dedication with her. Working her way up through competitive companies like Nabisco and Southwest, she committed herself to others while supporting those around her. Whether through compassionate customer service or sharing her smile with those fortunate to see it, her heart helped all. Although her accomplishments soar in business, Sonja’s grandest triumph remains her heart: her compassion burned brighter than any sizzling summer sun; her smile and laughter brightened life’s stormiest times. With her passing, her love joins us in our memories of her joy.
Sonja was preceded in death by Randy Jenkins (brother), and Lester and Elva Jenkins (parents).
She’s survived by children Paul Langley, Debbie Cornelius, and Jack Langley, grandchildren Danya Darrow, Jimmy Cornelius, Sonja Cornelius, Nathaniel Langley, and Hadley Langley, and great-grandchildren Jude, Lennon, River, and Laila Cornelius.
