She married Larry Stacy in 1951. They were blessed with 62 years of marriage. He was the love of her life. She owned & operated a delicatessen called Polsano's for years until she went into Real Estate. She was a realtor for 28 years. It gave her the opportunity to do what she loved and it gave her the freedom to spend time with her grandchildren and travel. She was very active in her church and was devout in her faith. She was quiet in nature, shy, selfless to anyone in need, but mighty & fierce when needed. Her grandchildren were her passion, as she loved babies and children. She, as well as Larry, suffered from Alzheimer's for many years. We will miss her dearly, but are joyous that she will be with the Lord and our father in heaven. Anyone who knew them, rarely saw them apart.
She is preceded in death by her husband Larry Stacy Sr, her parents and 3 siblings. She is survived by her son Larry Stacy Jr and wife Cindy Stacy, her daughter Susan Horton and husband Kevin Horton, her grandchildren Andrew Horton, Lindsay Stacy, Hilary Horton and great-grandchildren Ansley & Ava Horton, and Rylan Jannise. She is also survived by her sister Shirley Rooms.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 16th from Noon to 8 pm. A service celebrating Susie's life will be 10 am, Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with interment following in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
