Thomas A. Tibor age 63 of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away January 23, 2015. Adopted at the age of 2 he often said how lucky he was that they picked him. He was raised on the family ranch, Bear Mountain, out of Beach, North Dakota. He attended Assumption Abbey in Richardton, North Dakota for several years and graduated from Sidney High School in 1968. After studying for two years to become a veterinary technician he finally found his true love; the oil field.
Having done mud engineering for several different companies he ran his own company in the ‘70s. When the oil fields dried up in the ‘80s he found his second love; selling heavy construction equipment. In the ‘90s he was back to the work he knew and loved the best. He began working for Baroid, a division of Halliburton, some 20 years ago. He enjoyed teaching his mud schools and the traveling that went with it.
He married Shirley (Wyatt) in Casper WY in 1976. This is where his oldest son was born; Faron Reed Tibor. Not long after the family moved to Sidney, Montana. About six years later they moved to Billings MT where their second son, Shawn Andrew Tibor, was born. The family moved to Guthrie OK in 1998.
Tom is preceded in death by a set of twin girls and a son from a previous marriage that died at birth as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and his own mother and father.
He is survived by Shirley, his wife of 38 years, his son Faron of Parker, Colorado and Shawn of Guthrie, Oklahoma and his three grandchildren; Lillian Grace, Logan Reed and Isabel Mae.
Services will be 2:00pm, Friday, February 13 at Baggerley Funeral Home in Edmond, Oklahoma on February 13, as well as this spring outside of Beach North Dakota and at his final resting place at the Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Hebron, North Dakota where he will be laid to rest between his mom and dad.
