

Tom was born in Topeka, Kansas on October 15, 1940 to Claude and Ella Vesper. He served in the United States Army before graduating from Washburn University in Topeka, KS. Tom enjoyed a long, successful career in retail management, retiring from Wal-Mart Stores Inc in 2006 as a District Manager. Tom had a stellar reputation for being fair and consistent to everyone he worked with.
Tom married Lisa Johnson in 1993 and they moved back to Oklahoma. Tom and Lisa built their dream home in East Edmond and enjoyed hosting family and friends for close to 30 years. Tom was known for driving the tractor through the epic “Haunted Forest” during the annual Halloween parties. Each year growing bigger and more fun.
Tom is survived by his wife Lisa, of 31 years, Son, Chad (Susie) of Nichols Hills, Daughter, Jenny of Edmond. Stepsons, Michael Johnson (Christy), Chad Johnson, and Justin Johnson, all of Edmond. Tom was the grandfather to Chase, Jack, Kate, Jackson, George, Mason, Henry and Bridget. He had 3 great grandchildren, Ava, Addie and Annie.
Tom attended annual hunting trips in western Kansas with his life-long friends from grade school, with his son, Chad joining them in later years. Tom was an avid gun collector and loved target shooting. When possible, Tom could be found in his green bass boat on area lakes over the years wherever he lived. Tom cherished his wife and family and will be greatly missed.
