UL Eugene Newman

UL Eugene Newman our beloved husband, father, grandfather “Dado”, and friend, passed away from this life on February 9, 2017. UL was born on October 19, 1933 in Summerfield, OK to Delmar Cornelius and Zelda Marie (Brown) Newman. UL was a hard worker who always provided for his family. After 30+ years of working for AT&T, he retired. He enjoyed being outside whether it was camping, riding horses, swimming, hunting, working in his vegetable garden, or fishing. He even taught his children how to hunt, fish, and swim. Animals always had a special place in UL’s heart. Another one of his passions was to work on old Chevrolet and GMC’s. UL and his wife, Barbara, were members of both Cornerstone Church and Meadowood Baptist Church in Midwest City. They also owned a house at Lake Eufaula where he and his family would enjoy spending time together UL loved watching football, especially OU football! UL was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, U Dell Newman and Carroll Deen Newman. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years Barbara Ann Newman of the home; children, Rodney Eugene Newman and wife Patricia, and Dennis Ray Newman; grandson, Matthew Rodney Newman and wife Rebekah; great-grandchildren, Kale Newman, Hannah Duckworth, and Madelyn Duckworth; sister, Lynda Balldwin and husband Larry; and numerous other friends and family who will miss him dearly. A viewing will be from 8:00a.m.-8:00p.m., Thursday February 16, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2017 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel with interment at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
